1 lb. pork shoulder steak
6 c. boiling water
1 lb. pinto beans
2 large garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. cumin
1 tbsp. hot sauce or Mrs. Renfro's jalapeno salsa
1 tsp. dried oregano
1-1/2 tsp. salt
16 large flour tortillas
Toppings, including grated cheese, chopped tomatoes, salsa, cilantro, etc.

Directions:

Place beans in slow cooker or heavy pot with tight fitting lid. Add water, garlic, pork, salt, chili powder, cumin, hot pepper sauce or salsa, and oregano. Cover and bake at 250º if using oven, or on medium heat, if using slow cooker, for 6 hours, or until beans are tender, most of the liquid is absorbed and pork is falling off the bone.

Heat tortillas, wrapped in damp paper towels, in microwave until warm, about 2 minutes.

Everyone can serve themselves, wrapping tortillas around bean mixture and desired toppings.
