2 beef or chicken bouillon cubes
1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup (Auntie Reen says this can make it pretty salty and she often subsitutues a can of onion soup instead.)
1/3 cup barley (wash until water runs clear)
1 medium onion, chopped
3 medium carrots, chopped or sliced
1 1/2 cup chopped turnip
1 1/2 cup chopped celery
1 tin stewed tomatoes
1 can tomato soup with basil and oregano
1 can French cut beans, chopped
1 tbsp. dried thyme
Leftover chicken or beef, chopped in small pieces, if desired

Directions:

Combine ingredients. Add water to cover. Bring to boil, cover and simmer until vegetables are done.
