1 TBSP - melted butter/margarine
2 TBSP - molasses
1/8 cup - packed brown sugar
1 - egg
1 cup (plus a bit) - flour
1 tsp - baking powder
1/4 tsp - baking soda
1/8 tsp - salt
1 tsp - ginger
1/2 tsp - cinnamon
1/8 tsp - cloves
3/4 cup - boiling water

Directions:

1. Preheat waffle iron, spray with non-stick coating.

2. Mix margarine, molasses, egg and brown sugar until smooth.

3. Mix dry ingredients in separate bowl, then stir into the molasses mixture, alternating with the water. Begin and end with the flour until just blended.

4. Use approximately 1/4 to 1/3 cup of mixture for each waffle. Cook in preheated waffle iron until the steam stops coming out.

Delicious with a variety of toppings. Try drizzling with syrup, add fruit such as cinnamon apples or pears, top with whipped cream or cool whip. Use your imagination. Perfect for holiday breakfasts or any other time.

Can make up the dry ingredients ahead of time and keep in sealed container.
