1 1/2 lb ground beef/chuck
1 c soft bread crumbs or oatmeal
1/2 c canned milk
2 eggs
2 1/2 tbls ketchup
2 1/2 tbls
grated/minced onion
1 tsp mustard (prepared not spiced)
salt and pepper
2 tbls horseradish (more can be added depending on personal taste)

Directions:

Mix by hand. Form into loaf/loaves. Place in pan and bake for 1 hour at 350° F.
Serves 6.

“This was a standard recipe for potluck suppers when I began ministry in 1981 at First Presbyterian Church in North Kansas City, Missouri. It was affordable on a seminary student’s income. It still is. The horseradish was an addition suggested by Katie Casterline of the 1st Presbyterian Church. It makes the meat loaf sing!.” David
