5 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
5 tsp. melted butter
2 c. cold milk
3 3/4 c. cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients until dough has consistency of "pancake" texture- smooth and thin. Pour small portions about large tablespoons full, onto a very hot iron form or mold.

Yield: 98 oplatky, approx. 5" in size

Oplatky is reminisce of the Communion wafer and is a symbol of bounty, generosity and of token of God's infinite love in Christ, his son It is an important part of the traditional Slovak Christmas Eve dinner. Usually, the head of the household leads the family in prayer and then distributes the oplatky to each family member. Often served with honey
