2 c sugar
1 c milk
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 1/2 c chopped pitted dates
1 c chopped nut meats

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, milk and butter. Cook slowly, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Boil slowly to 240º (or when small amount dropped into cold water forms semi-firm ball). Remove from heat. Add dates and nut meats. Stir until mixture thickens. Form into 2 rolls 1 1/2 inch diameter. Wrap in damp cloth and chill until firm. Slice 1/4 thick.
