1 c - 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
2 c sugar
2 oranges
1 lemon
2 eggs
2 1/2 c sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
1 c buttermilk
1 c finely chopped walnuts
1 1/2 Tbsp rum flavoring

Grate colored part of oranges and lemon and set aside. Juice from oranges and lemon in another bowl. Beat butter til fluffy. Gradually add 1 c sugar, beating to keep fluffy. Add grated rinds and eggs one at a time. Mix together in another bowl, flour and baking powder. Combine buttermilk and soda. Slowly add buttermilk and flour mixture to eggs and sugar. Fold in walnuts and spoon into tube pan. Bake 1 hour.

Strain orange and lemon juices. Add 1 c sugar and 1 1/2 Tbsp rum flavoring. Bring to boil and pour slowly over cake. Let set 2 days.
