6 lbs spareribs, cut in short lengths and 2 to 4 ribs in width.
1 c water

Garlic Sauce:
1 c brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp garlic powder or 2 cloves minced
1 c water
3 tbsp soy sauce

Directions:

Sauce:
Mix all ingredients together in small saucepan. Heat and stir until it boils and thickens. Makes 1 1/2 cups of good dark glaze.

Ribs:
Place ribs and water in roaster. Cover and bake in preheated 350º oven for 1 hour or until barely tender. Cool a bit then chill in refrigerator until needed.

To cook on the barbecue, place ribs on tray along with Garlic Sauce. Arrange ribs over hot coals. When hot, turn and brush with sauce. Repeat on both sides. When sizzling and sauce is cooked in, remove from heat and serve.
