1 10 oz pkg of frozen chopped spinach
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 c grated cheddar cheese
1 tbsp fresh dillweed, finely chopped
1 c mayonnaise
1 c sour cream
1/4 c green onion, chopped
1 10 oz can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1/4 c bacon bits
1 large round loaf of French, Italian or Pumpernickel bread

Thaw spinach, drain thoroughly, squeeze dry and chop finely.

Cream the cheeses together, Stir in spinach and the remaining ingredients.

Cut a thick slice from the top of the loaf of bread, keeping the top intact. Scoop out the inside of the loaf, leaving about 1/2" around the shell. Cut the scooped out part into pieces and reserve. Fill the hollow portion of the loaf with the spinach dip. Replace the lid.

If serving heated, wrap in aluminum foil and bake in a preheated 300º oven for 2 hours. Serve with the reserved bread and assorted crackers.
