1 1/2 C flour, sifted
1 3/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 C shortening
1/2 C sugar
1 Egg, beaten
1/4 C milk
1 C raw apple, peeled and grated
1/2 C butter
1/2 C sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and 1/2 cup sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture is fine. Mix together egg, milk and apple. Add all at once to dry ingredients and mix quickly. Fill muffin tins 3/4 full and bake for 20 to 30 minutes in a 350º oven. Remove muffins from pan while still warm and roll in melted butter, and then roll in a sugar a cinnamon mixture and enjoy.
