3 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
pinch of salt
1 cup shortening (I use butter flavor)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Set oven 350º. Mix well, roll into 1-1/2 balls (optional- roll in white or brown sugar). Flatten out with a glass on the cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Yields 3 dozen.
