Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Cucumbers, lots thinly sliced
2 large onions thinly sliced
1 green pepper thinly sliced
4 c sugar
2 c vinegar
2 tbsp pickling salt
1 tsp turmeric, celery seed, and mustard seed

Directions:
Directions:
Fill an ice cream pail with the sliced cucumbers, onion and green pepper, mix well.

Combine remaining ingredients and heat until just hot and sugar is dissolved but don't boil. Pour the brine over the vegetables. Mix well and refrigerate.

Don't fill the pail too full so you can stir the pickles every once in a while.

They are ready to eat in 3 days and will keep in the refrigerator indefinitely. I transfer the pickles into jars for easier storage.
