★ 3 lbs. lean ground beef
★ ½ large white onion, diced finely
★ ½ large green pepper, diced finely
★ 3 celery stalks, diced finely
★ 1½ tsp. chili powder
★ 1½ tsp. garlic powder
★ 1½ tsp. dried sweet basil
★ ½ tsp. black pepper
★ 1 tsp. salt
★ 2-14½ oz jars pizza sauce
★ 8 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded

In a 12 inch skillet, brown the ground beef, onion, green pepper and celery, drain. Add the chili powder, garlic, basil, salt, pepper and pizza sauce. Cook ½ hour covered on medium-low heat. Add the cheese. Mix well and cook until cheese is melted and heated through. Serve on hamburger buns with mustard and dill pickles. Meat sauce can be frozen.
Makes 16 to 20 sandwiches.
