Overnight Caramel French Toast Recipe

1 1/2 c packed brown sugar
3/4 c butter
1/3 c corn syrup
8 – 10 slices French bread cut 1 1/2 inches thick
4 eggs
2 1/2 c whole milk
1 tbsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, butter and syrup in a heavy medium saucepan. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat for five minutes or until mixture is bubbly.

Pour evenly over bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish. Arrange bread slices close together over syrup.

Whisk together next five ingredients (egg through nutmeg). Pour mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate eight hours or overnight. Combine sugar and cinnamon: sprinkle over bread.

Bake in a preheated 350º for 45 - 50 minutes or until mixture is puffed and set in centre. Serve immediately.
