1 long French loaf
8 large eggs
2 c milk
20 mL sugar
3 mL salt
15 mL vanilla
75 mL melted butter

Cinnamon

Directions:
Cut bread into 1 inch slices and arrange in one layer in the bottom of 2 greased 13 x 9 pans.

In a large bowl beat eggs with remaining ingredients except butter. When thoroughly mixed, pour over bread in pans. Cover with foil and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Drizzle bread with melted butter before baking.

Bake, uncovered in a preheated 350º oven for 45 to 50 minutes and until bread is puffy and lightly browned. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Serve with a choice of syrup, honey or jelly.

Optional: A liberal dusting of cinnamon may be added just before baking.
