Ingredients:
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup white corn syrup
1 cup undiluted evaporated milk
1½ cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, corn syrup, and milk; cook only until sugar dissolves to softball stage 236°. Cool to room temperature without stirring till lukewarm—110°. Beat until mixture holds its shape. Oil or butter your hands. Pinch off a portion of candy. Roll into log shape. (She made the candy about 8 inches long and maybe 2 inches in diameter.) Roll into chopped pecans to cover with a layer of pecans.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Seriously, this is the best candy ever. I have had store-bought versions before but they are nothing like this. It is best not to try to make this on a rainy day as the humidity will cause the candy to be too soft and not form into log shapes. If it's too hot and dry, it won't form logs, just crumbles. I don't remember it happening to Mom, but it did happen to me a few times.
