4 c. all-purpose flour
3 c. sugar
1 lb. butter, softened
3/4 c. milk
6 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Place flour, sugar, butter, milk, eggs and vanilla (in that order) in a 4 quart mixing bowl. Beat mixture on low speed with a heavy duty stand mixer 1 minute, stopping to scrape down sides. Beat at medium speed 2 minutes. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325º for 1 hour and 30 minutes until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan, and cool completely on wire rack. Garnish if desired.
