2 lb. small Michigan Navy Beans
4 qt. Water
1 1/4 lb. Smoked Ham Hocks
1 Onion, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Wash beans and run through hot water until beans are white again. Put on fire with 4 qts. of hot water. Add ham hocks and boil slowly for approximately 3 hours in a covered pot. Braise chopped onion in a little butter and when light brown, put in the bean soup. Season with salt and pepper when ready to serve.
