3 cups apple cider vinegar
3 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup butter
3 tsp. Tabasco
2 tsp. fresh lemon juice
2 tsp. mustard powder
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. crushed red peppers
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a medium size pot and simmer for 10 minutes. Pour the mixture through a strainer to remove the crushed red peppers. Stir again then refrigerate for 2-3 days. Make sure to stir once a day.

This sauce is from my youth in North Carolina. While making it, I always relive a lot of fond childhood memories. I had forgotten how yummy Carolina cooking could be.
