In a blender combine
1/4 cup corn kernels (fresh or frozen)
1 egg
1/4 cup finely diced onion

3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. fresh thyme, chopped (or dry)
1/4 tsp. cayenne
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
3/4 pound crab - if frozen thaw and drain (or 3-4 tins of crab meat drained).

Directions:
Directions:
Blend first three ingredients and reserve.
Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Add corn mixture and stir well.
Form into patties and pan fry until browned on both sides. Makes 16 - 2 inch patties.
Serve with seafood sauce.
Can be reheated or served room temperature.

Canned crab works surprisingly well. I serve with lemon thyme yogurt or replace the thyme with dill and use dill lemon sauce
