1 c. rice
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
2 tsp nutmeg
2 qts. milk (I you use part half and half, it makes a richer pudding)

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and rinse rice several times in cold water. Drain water off rice.
Put rice in a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Stir in sugar, salt, nutmeg and raisins. Add milk and half and half. stir. bake in moderate oven at 350º for at least 1 hour or until rice is cooked. Check occasionally and stir while rice pudding is cooking.

For variety, you can use brown rice instead of white rice. You can add 1/2 cup extra raisins if desired.
