1/3 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. melted shortening
2 c. milk
2 beaten eggs
1 yeast cake
1/4 c. warm water
4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Put cornmeal, sugar, salt, shortening, and milk into double boiler and cook until thick. Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add beaten eggs to cornmeal mixture. Add yeast mixture, beat well. Add flour to form a good stiff dough. Knead until smooth. Let rise in a warm place. Roll out, brush with melted butter and shape as for Parkerhouse rolls. Bake at 400º for 15 minutes. Makes 2 dozen
