OATMEAL CAKE:
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 cube margarine
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour (sifted)
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt

BROILED ICING:
3 tbsp. melted butter
2 c. brown sugar?
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
4-5 tbsp. milk

Oatmeal Cake:
Boil 1 1/4 c water. Pour over oatmeal. Let stand 3 minutes. Set aside. Cream margarine with sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Continue to beat, then add oatmeal and vanilla. Mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Bake in a sheet pan at 325º for 55 minutes.

Icing:
Mix ingredients together thoroughly and put on top of cake when cooked. Broil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from oven.
