Directions:Prepare yeast and set aside. In a large bowl add potato water. Add sugar and salt. Stir. Add eggs and oil. Stir. Add yeast mixture, stir. Add flour a cup or two at a time. Mix until dough is a little sticky. I put oil on my hands to make it easier to handle. Preheat oven to 350º just before bread has finished rising. Cook 20 to 25 min. for rolls. 45-60 min. for loaves. I also use this bread recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls (add 1/2 cup of sugar to sweeten the dough). |

Notes: "I started making bread when I was about eleven years old. Grandma Kidd was in a car accident. She broke her back and pelvis. Grandma was in the hospital bed for many months. I remember we would push her bed into the kitchen so that she could watch me and help me out. It was hard to make the dough into rolls and loaves, so I would hand her some dough. She would form it into loaves or rolls and hand it back. We did this until I got the hang of it. It wasn't Grandma's, but it was pretty good. Over the years I have got better. Everyone seems to like my bread and cinnamon rolls so I guess I have got better. I have since passed this recipe down to my four daughters. They have not mastered it like Grandma, but I'm sure that it will come with time" - Barbara Brewster
