1 cup -------------------- Brown sugar
6 tbsp. ------------------ Corn syrup
2 tsp. -------------------- Baking soda
1/4 tsp. ----------------- Salt
1 cup -------------------- Shortening
2 large ------------------ Eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp. -------------------- Vanilla extract
3 to 4 cups ------------ Flour

Mix above ingredients in order as they are listed above.

Chill dough in refrigerator for about 1/2 hour; as they will roll out easier this way.

Roll out and cut cookies in circles or any shape you desire.

Put one piece of dough down on cookie sheet, place 1/2 teaspoon of jam (raspberry) on it, and then cover it up with another circle of dough, sealing the edges.

Bake about 15 minutes in a preheated 350º oven until brown. Care should be taken when baking them as they will burn very easy.

Yields about 15 cookies.
