3 1/2 C potatoes, peeled and diced
1/3 C celery, diced
1/3 C onion, finely chopped
1/2 C carrots, diced
1 C ham, cooked and diced
3 1/4 C chicken broth
1/2 t salt
1 t pepper
5 T butter
5 T flour
2 C milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine potatoes, celery, onion, carrots, ham and chicken broth in a stock pot. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender. Stir in salt and pepper. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk flour with a fork, and cook stirring constantly until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk so that lumps don't form, until all of the milk has been added. Continue stirring over medium low heat until thick. Stir the milk mixture into the stockpot, and cook soup until heated through. Top with cheddar cheese, chives, and bacon.
