2½ Cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
½ tsp Baking Soda
¼ tsp Salt
½ Cup Margarine
½ Cup Shortening
1 Cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
½ Cup Chopped Walnuts or Pecans
1 Cup Candied Fruit or Cherries Chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, margarine with sugar eggs and vanilla.
Stir dry ingredients together and slowly add to the wet ingredients.
Add nuts and fruit. You can chill for ½ hour for easier handling if desired. Shape dough into two smooth rolls about 1 1/2" in diameter. Wrap in wax paper and chill overnight in the fridge. Slice with a sharp knife into 1/4 " slices.

Place on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake @ 375º for 8 - 12 minutes.
