brisket
a large can paprika (I use Hungarian paprika)
1 T garlic powder
3 T brown sugar
1 t salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Trim all fat from brisket
2. Combine paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, and salt. Add enough water to form a thick paste.
3. Smear the paste all over the brisket, top, bottom, and sides.
4. Place in baking pan and rinse out the paste bowl with 1 1/2 cups of water, pouring it into the pan beside the brisket.
5. Cover tightly with aluminum foil
6. Bake at 425º for 15 minutes; then turn oven down to 250º and cook for 45 minutes per pound. I sometimes cook mine even longer, but don't open the foil and let the steam out or the brisket will dry out and burn.
7. It's best to let the cooked brisket cool before slicing because a hot brisket will just crumble apart!!!
8. Enjoy!!!
