6-1/4 to 6-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
2 packages active dry yeast
1/2 cup dark molasses
1/3 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 cups water
1 Tbsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 3 cups flour, cornmeal, and the yeast. Heat molasses, shortening, water, and salt just until warm (115º-120º); stir constantly. Add to flour mixture; add eggs. Beat a low speed of electric mixer 1/2 minute. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. Stir in as much remaining flour as you can mix in with a spoon. On a floured surface knead in enough remaining flour to make a moderately soft dough (3-5 minutes total). Shape into ball in a greased bowl; turning once. Cover; let rise in a warm place until double (1 to 1-1/4 hours). Punch down; divide in half. Cover; let rest 10 minutes. Grease two 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans. Cover let rise until nearly double (45 to 60 minutes). Bake in 375º oven 30 to 40 minutes.
