2 C. Sugar
1/2 C. Shortening
1 Tsp. Cloves
1 Tsp. Cinnamon
5 Tbsp. Cocoa
5 C. Flour
1/2 Tsp. Salt
2 Tsp. Soda
1 Tsp. Nutmeg
1 Tsp. Allspice
2 C. Raisin Water

Directions:
Directions:
Cook raisins in about 3 1/2 cups water until tender. Reserve 2 cups of the raisin water. Cream sugar and shortening. Sift dry ingredients into sugar and shortening mixture. Add raisin water and flour. Mix well and add raisins. You can add nuts or candied fruit. Bake at 350 until it tests done (45-55 minutes). This makes 2 regular loaves or 3 small ones.
