Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 T. Spry
2 T. margarine
1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
2 T. cream, or canned milk
1 c. shredded coconut.

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1st 4 ingredients, place on stove and bring to boil. Remove and stir in coconut. Spread over warm cake and put in broiler until coconut is light brown. Be careful that it doesn't burn, because coconut does that very easily. When you bring the first 4 ingredients to a boil, just when it starts to boil, take it off. Do not repeat DO NOT let boil after it starts. I'll go up to Clydes and get the coconut so you can get it finished.

Sincerely yours,

George A. Hamm
Receptionist.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is included here exactly as it was found on a note in Grammy's recipe box. I don't know the story of this recipe. Spry is shortening, and the canned milk is probably evaporated, since it substitutes for cream.
