2 tablespoons lemon jello
1/4 cup water
1 1/4 cup canned crushed pineapple in juice
4 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
1 pie crust
2 cups whipped cream

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve jello in hot water. Let stand while preparing the following mixture.

Beat egg yolks slightly and add 1/4 cup of the sugar, drained pineapple, lemon juice and salt. Cook over boiling water until of custard consistency. Add the dissolved jello, stirring thoroughly and cool. When mixture begins to thicken, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites to which has been added the remainder of the sugar. Fill baked pie crust and chill. Just before serving, spread over pie a thick layer of whipped cream.
