Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 large cans tomato puree
2 small or 1 medium cans tomato paste
1 small onions
oregano to taste
garlic salt
red pepper flakes to taste
2 to 3 T. oil

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onions in a large saucepan until translucent in oil. Add tomato paste. Fill tomato paste cans completely with warm water, stir to clean out and put in the pot. Stir water, paste and onions together. Add puree and fill cans halfway with warm water. With a spatula swirl the water in the can to get all the good stuff. Stir thoroughly into the other ingredients. Add lots of oregano, garlic salt and crushed red pepper to taste. Heat on stovetop for a long time, at least several hours for the best taste. You can easily double this recipe and store in fridge or freezer, as it lasts forever. Doubled you have about a gallon of sauce.

Variations: I (Julie) now use fresh garlic and sea salt, and also green bell peppers in this sauce. Also I will make a huge batch and can it. That way I have sauce as easy as buying at the store, but made myself.
