1 1/2 cups oil
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups plain flour
1 cup chopped pecans
3 cups grated pears( or apples)
Caramel glaze:
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
4 Tbsp. evaporated milk
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and lightly flour 2 cake pans or bundt pan. Beat first 3 ingredients at low speed until creamy. Mix dry ingredients and slowly add to egg mixture until blended. Add vanilla, fruit and pecans. Pour into pans and bake for 40-45 min. Let sit and cool for about 5 minutes, then remove from pan and pour caramel glaze over warm cake.
Glaze: Heat all ingredients except powdered sugar in sauce pan until bubbly, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and slowly beat in powdered sugar until thickened.
