1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 sticks butter
1 1/2 cups light karo syrup
2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp anise oil or 4 tsp anise extract
3/4 tsp black food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Use a heavy pan and stir constantly!!!!!
Mix the sweetened condensed milk, karo, sugar and salt together in a bowl. Melt the butter in a heavy pan. Add the milk mixture to the melted butter. Cook on medium to low heat to 240 º{stir constantly because it scorches easily}. Remove from the heat and add anise and food coloring, stir together. Pour into a 13X 9 buttered dish. Cool completely, cut into bite-size squares and wrap in waxed paper.
