Ingredients:

1/4 t salt
1/2 t cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg

Directions:
Heat oven to 350. Grease a 2 qt loaf pan or an 8 inch square pan with 1 t butter and set aside. Heat milk just to boil over medium heat (I use the microwave in a glass measuring cut). Pour over cereal in a large bowl and set to soak for 5 minutes or so. Beat together eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon. Slowly pour egg mixture into milk and cereal mixture while whisking. Transfer to greased baking dish and bake in a water bath for 1 1/4 hours. For a water bath...set baking dish in a large roasting pan and add hot water halfway up sides of baking dish. Remove from oven and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Personal Notes:
A very old Yankee dessert! The cereal settles to the bottom to create a great bottom layer. In the northeast everything I've tried with Grape-Nuts has been good...even ice cream....recipe later.
