1 cup Crisco or butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
3 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Combine flour, soda and salt. Add flour and buttermilk alternately, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325-350 for 1 hour. Do not open oven door until done.
