2 CUPS BROWN SUGAR
2 EGGS UNBEATEN
3 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
1/2 Tsp. SALT
1 Tsp. BAKING SODA
1/2 Tsp. BAKING POWDER
1 Tsp. VANILLA
OPTIONAL: 1/2 CUP NUTS OR CANDIED CHERRIES.

SIFT FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, BAKING SODA AND SALT
BEAT BUTTER, SUGAR AND ADD ONE EGG AT A TIME
ADD VANILLA AND FLOUR. MIX TOGETHER
CHILL MIXTURE THOROUGHLY.
MAKE INTO A ROLL AND CUT VERY THIN SLICES 1/8"
LAY OUT ON COOKIE SHEET
BAKE AT 350 TO 375 DEGREES FOR 8 MINUTES
