Cucumber Lime Pickles Recipe

7 lbs. cucumbers (slice crosswise)
2 cups lime
2 gallons water

Syrup:
2 quarts vinegar
4 1/2 lbs. sugar (9 1/2 cups)
1 tablespoon salt

1 heaping tablespoon pickling spice

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cucumber slices 24 hours in lime water, then rinse in 3 different cool waters. Soak 3 hours in ice and water. Then remove.

Mix vinegar, sugar and salt to make syrup and pour over cucumbers. Let set overnight. Add picking spice to suit taste. Then boil mixture for 35 minutes and can.

Makes about 10 pints.
