4 c. sugar (can be cut to 3½ cups)
2 c. pickling vinegar
2 tbsp pickling salt
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp celery seed
1 tsp mustard seed
1 large red pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
1 large green pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
1 large Spanish onion thinly sliced
5 unpeeled cucumbers washed and thinly sliced.

Measure sugar, pickling vinegar, salt, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed in a four qt. ice cream bucket and stir. Add peppers and onions. Add cucumbers to fill the bucket up to the level of liquid.
Let stand for 2 hrs. After 2 hours, stir mixture. May shrink so you can add more cucumbers. Cover and store in refrigerator for up to a year!
