"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Directions:
Add to previous mixture and mix gently until most or all the flour has been mixed in. Pour into 9 x 13 pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE!! These are NOT Cake brownies and will look underdone. Take out when toothpick doesn’t look wet.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
You can also use 2 glass pie pans instead of the 9 x 13 dish. This allows for pie slices and topped with ice cream they are a great party dessert.

Mom found this recipe in a newspaper before I was born (1942) and it has been and still is a requirement at all family gatherings. It also helped fund my Brownie and Girl Scout troops through the years. My mom’s friend, Miss Lilly Yount, used to buy them all and would freeze them until time to serve at their bridge club.
