1/4 cup sugar
1 cup warm water
1 cup pecan halves
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. chili powder
1/3 tsp. ground red pepper
1/2 tsp. salt or to taste

Directions:
Directions:
1. Dissolve the 1/4 cup of sugar in the warm water. Add pecans to sugar water, soak 10 minutes. Drain, discard liquid.

2. Combine sugar and spices, add pecans, toss to coat. Spread the pecans out in a single layer on a Pam-sprayed baking sheet.

3. Bake at 350º for about 10 minutes until golden brown and fragrant, stirring once. Store in a tightly sealed container.

Serve with cocktails or in salad. Increase pepper slightly if desired.
