Tortilla Soup Recipe

8 oz. gr. beef or 3 boned, skinless chicken breast (diced)
3 (14oz.) chicken broth
1 (150z.)undrained whole corn
1 (28oz.) can tomatoes-crushed, whole your choice
2 c. water
3/4 T. cumin
3/4 T. garlic powder
1 t. chili powder
1T. picante
1 small onion (chopped)
"Rolitos" by Doritos
3 oz. American Cheese (grated )

Directions:
Directions:
1) Saute' onion in a little bit of oil or butter.
2) Brown meat... if using chicken, you can season it to taste, using whatever you prefer...shake pieces in bag of flour, then brown in butter, in pan.
3) In large pot, combine broth, water, corn, tomatoes, & spices. Add onion & meat. (can add more seasoning if desired at this time.) Bring to boil, reduce heat & simmer 15- 20 minutes. Add cheese, stir until melted.

When ready to serve, cut corn tortilla's into small pieces or break corn chips into bite size pieces. Place in bowl ( add more cheese if you like it cheesy) ladle over the tortillas or corn chops.
Soup will freeze well if need be.

I have added black beans, green chilies, sometimes I even add 1 jar of salsa.
