2 1/2 cups Swans Down cake flour measure after sifting
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp soda
1 tsp cocoa
1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp vinegar
2 eggs
1 bottle red food coloring
1 tsp vanilla

Frosting
1 stick butter
1 8 oz package of cream cheese
1 box of confectioner's sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour 2 8" layer cake pans

2. Sift together dry ingredients. Add other ingredients in order and beat thoroughly.

3. Divide the batter evenly between the layer cake pans. Bake for 25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out three.

Frosting
4. Let butter and cream cheese soften at room temperature.

5. Cream butter and cream cheese together, add sugar and beat until creamy.

6. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Spread on cake.
