3 c. raw chopped apples
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Chop apples. Set aside. Pour sugar, oil and eggs in large bowl and mix well. Sift flour, salt, soda, baking powder and spices together. Slowly add flour mixture to sugar mixture. Gently fold in apples. Pour into oiled 13 x 9 x 3 pan. Bake at 350º for 1 hour. While cake is hot, punch holes with fork or toothpick. Pour glaze over hot cake.

Sugar Glaze:
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
3 T. water
2 tsp. vanilla

Mix well and drizzle over cake while cake is still hot.
