1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup raisins
3 cups cake flour (reserve 1/4 cup for fruit and nuts)
1 tsp soda
3/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt.

1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
3 beaten eggs
1 Tbsp. molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, brown sugar, eggs and molasses. Add flour, soda and spices. Stir in fruit and nuts that have been dredged in 1/4 cup flour. Bake at 420 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
