3/4 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sour milk
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add unbeaten eggs one at a time and beat well; then add vanilla and milk. Sift flour, soda, salt, and cocoa together. Add dry ingredients with wet. Add boiling water all at once and stir until well mixed.
Bake in 3 layers at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Frost as desired.
