2 (2 lbs. each) broiler/fryer chickens split, 2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper, 1 tsp. leaf thyme, crumbled, 1 lb. potatoes, 1/4 c. butter, 1 tsp. paprika, 2 T. oil, 2 T. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 400º. Line shallow pan with foil and brush lightly with oil. Rub chicken halves with salt, pepper, amd thyme. Arrange on one side of pan, leave space for the potatoes. Wash potatoes and cut in large lengthwise. Cut each half into 3 wedges. Combine oil and paprika. Coat wedges and place cut side up in baking pan. Roast at 400º for 1 hour. melt butter and add lemon juice. Brush over chicken for the last 30 minutes of roasting.
