Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 and 1/2 pounds beef stew meat ( meat that is cubed)
1 large onion ( large chop)
4-5 stalks celery chopped
3/4 bag of carrots chopped
3 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup water
2 cups beef stock
3/4 cup flour
6 tbs. butter
2 dried Bay leafs
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Place flour and salt and pepper in a large ziplock bag. Place cubed beef in bag and shake until the cubes are coated with flour mixture, you may need to do it in batches. In a large, heavy stew pot melt butter. Add beef and brown on all sides. Be sure as you turn the cubes over that you scrap the bottom of the pan to get the excess off the bottom, this is what makes the stew thick and yummy. After meat is browned add the opinions, celery, and carrots and brown for just a few minutes, don't let them burn. Add beef stock, water salt, pepper and bay leaf. Let the stew come to boil for about 10 minutes then turn down the heat to a simmer. Add the potatoes after the stew simmers about 20 minutes. Continue to cook for another 20-30 minutes. If stew isn't thickening make a mixture of milk and flour ( 2 tbs of flour and 4 tbs. milk ) and shake in a Small Tupperware bowl with a lid, and pour mixture into the stew, it should thicken up nicely. Salt and pepper to taste and remove the bay leafs.
