"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb. thin sliced beef sirloin/rib eye
2 tbsp. rice wine
4 tbsp. light soy sauce
2 tbsp. sugar or light corn syrup
1 tbsp. sesame oil
3 cloves minced garlic
2 green onions
black pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Make the sauce, basically combining all the ingredients together in a bowl, except for the beef. Taste and, if you wish, add more ingredients, e.g. soy sauce for more saltiness or sugar for more sweetness.

Either in a big bowl or large resealable plastic bag, mix with beef and marinate at least 3 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

In a high heat pan, add a table spoon of oil and stir fry the marinated beef quickly. Add onion, if desirable, and cook for 3 minutes before adding the marinated beef.

You can use the exact same recipe using beef rib instead, but use the hot grill (good for summer BBQ) or an oven to cook instead of frying pan.
